How to Express Health Problems in English

In the UK, a pharmacy is called “chemist’s,” and in the US, it’s called a “drugstore.”

  • Sunburn /ˈsʌnˌbɜrn/
  • A temperature /ˈtɛmpərətʃər/
  • A sore throat /sɔr θroʊt/

Useful Phrases:

  • Feel ill
  • Take some medicine
  • See a doctor

Advice:

As you may recall, when giving advice, we use the words “should” or “shouldn’t.”

When we feel ill, we should see a doctor.
